Next Star "lovely²" starring in Lovepat makes their debut! An interview to commemorate their first single which is a hot topic due to the participation of CRAZY Shikakkei!!

 "Police x Heroine Lovepatrina!" is the 4th installment in the popular special effects drama "Girls x Heroine Series".

The 3 lead cast members are Miyu Watanabe, Rina Yamaguchi and Yui Yamashita who are also real life artists, lovely² (read: lovely lovely). They make their major debut on September 30, 2020 with the drama's ending theme "〇×△ circle x triangle" (〇×△　～まる・ばつ・さんかく～).

Following after "miracle²", "magical²" and "mirage²" who have jumped out of the "Girls x Heroine series", what kind of group are the newest group, "lovely²"? I shall interview them.

How did you start singing and dancing

- First of all, tell us how you started singing and dancing

Miyu: I've been singing and dancing since I was little but I also go to E-girls live performances every year, and after seeing those stages, I too wanted to become an artist. I started dance when I was 3-4 years old but I only really started wanting to do it in the first grade of elementary school.

Rina: My mom really likes EXILE and so I started dancing but not very seriously. But as I continued on, I found myself having much more fun and so I wanted to be active like EXILE and E-girls.

- Why do you think dancing became more fun?

Rina: I originally liked it, and so I came to understand those feelings? That's what I think.

- What was your reason at first, Yui?

Yui: At first, I was just having fun with my friend who invited me, but afterwards it turned into admiration for E-girls and so I wanted to become an artist just like them.

- Where did your longing for the stage come from, did it start from your lessons?

Yui: For me, I was a backup dancer for GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE, and seeing the scenery from that stage was amazing so I wanted to do it again but as the main act.

What are the personalities of the 3

- So, I would like to know all of your personalities but starting off with Miyu. From your appearance on OhaSuta, I got a lively image coming off of you, but what do you think you are?

Miyu: I don't like the dark, so I try to be bright and loud, I also like to talk.

- What do the members see?

Rina & Yui: She's energetic!

Yui: She's really funny. She becomes funny when she switches to a weird face.

Miyu: No I don't!

Rina: She's like "what just happened? I was mature up until a little while ago." (laughs)

Miyu: I normally laugh when I'm talking to them.

Rina: I'm always so surprised when she suddenly becomes excited.

Miyu: It's normal for me.

- What about you, Rina?

Rina: ... I think I'm loud.

- (laughs) So Rina is energetic too

Miyu: She has a similar personality to me that if Yui looks at the two us, she probably thinks we're the same.

Yui: Yeah, they're the same.

Miyu: We're just ourselves. When we do things together, we talk the same, and there are many times where I think "I was thinking that".

- And does Rina get excited easily?

Yui: Though they're both energetic, they are also a little different. Miyu is funny and energetic while Rina just laughs at everything.

Miyu: But when we laugh, there's a bit of a time lag.

Rina: I become so addicted that I just keep thinking about it again.

Miyu: I remember what I did before and just laugh.

- There's a timing between the two of you that we don't know

Yui: Furthermore, when we say "Ah!", the laughter stops (laughs)

Rina: We just did that! (in the previous interview) (laughs)

Miyu: When we say "Ah!" with an unpleasant expression we just go back to our work like normal.

Rina: I only say my emotions (laughs)

- Yui seems to have a different atmosphere than the two of you

Yui: Those two are strange.

Miyu: Yui looks mature but on the inside, she's a different type of mischievous.

Rina: It's hard to compare but she feels a little more trendy.

Miyu: There are times where she talks a lot of recent phrases that sometimes I don't understand and just say "huh?"

Yui: ... Yep that's what I'm like (laughs) I'm often told that people don't know what I'm talking about.

How you felt when lovely² was decided

- In parallel with your activities in "Police x Heroine Lovepatrina!", how did you feel when it was decided you would also make your debut as "lovely²"

Miyu: Of course I was happy because it was my dream to become an artist, but I was also worried because it was an experience I had never done before. There was a lot of things we did for the first time in Lovepat, but I'm glad the three of us were able to help each other out.

- Rina's previous work was in "Secret x Heroine Phantomirage!" how was that?

Rina: But I've always wanted to debut as an artist, I couldn't believe it but I was so happy.

- What about Yui?

Yui: I was both happy and nervous. I'm happy to be an artist but I began to think that I should work harder on skills where I lacked in singing and dancing.

- There's a lot of sense of responsibility in a drama series, do you think your seniors "Girls²" also went through the same thing? Rina also co-starred in the same drama, did you ever think you wanted to be one too, or something like that...

Rina: I thought that way too much! (laughs)

Yui: I also visited the movie filming site once.

Miyu: I thought their acting was amazing.

Introducing the single "〇×△ circle x triangle". Do you have any favorite points?

Yui: In the title track "〇×△ circle x triangle", I love the hook.

Miyu: I like all the songs I liked "3 2 1" ever since I listened to it, it's really fun to perform.

Rina: I like the bright and cute feeling of "〇×△ circle x triangle" because it matches my costume. The MV set was also very cute.

- The MV was really cute. What did you guys think?

Yui: There are a lot of circles, x's and triangles in the set, so I want you to look for them.

Everyone: There? (laughs)

Miyu: But the shoot was very hot.

Yui: My cheeks are probably very red in it (laughs)

Miyu: It was very hot because we had to dance one song many times while the lights hit us. I also used the set to play hide-and-seek, do fashion shows and just shoot the scenery I was playing with.

What is the "lovely" of the 3?

- Finally, your group name is "lovely²", but what do you imagine when you hear the word "lovely".

Yui: Love? Love for something, for example.

Miyu: Love for dogs?

Rina: Miyu has a great love for dogs. Ah, Yui has a great love for mentai cream pasta.

Everyone: (laughs)

Yui: It's second to no one?

Miyu: I have love for animals and beef tongue (laughs) I have two dogs.

- There are a lot of girls who like beef tongue and sunagimo

Miyu: I also like tecchan! (beef large intestine; taken from the Korean word "daejang")

- (laughs) What kind of love does Rina have?

Rina: It's difficult to say.

Yui: Sleep? You seem to really like sleeping.

Rina: Going back to bed after sleeping is the best. My favorite foods are sweets and shoguyaki

- The difference between sweets and shoguyaki is amazing (laughs)

Yui: It's completely different!

Rina: It used to be strawberries and steak (laughs)

Everyone: (laughs)

Rina: I like all kinds of sweets, I can't decide.

- Definitely. It's delicious overall. By the way, Yui's is mentai cream pasta!

Yui: I really like it! I'm from Fukuoka but...

Miyu: Fukuoka is famous for its mentaiko, right?

Yui: Yup yup. The rice shop also has mentai cream pasta and menta cream udon...

Miyu & Rina: They even have udon!?

Yui: I like both (laughs) It feels like I'm addicted.

- I'm hungry listening to this conversation (laughs) Finally, is there a dream you have within "lovely²"?

Miyu: We still have a lot of songs and dances, so from now on we'll work hard so that many people will know "lovely²". Because of the times we're in right now (Corona), we haven't been able to meet the fans who supported us since our activities started, so I'd like to hold an event on stage as soon as possible. I want to do my best so that I can perform properly.
